Depiction of employees and regulars at Café Strudsen in Nørrebro. You are presented with their everyday problems and their dreams. It is the head waiter Søren, the buffet lady Caja and especially the pianist Lasse who ensure the café's cozy atmosphere. Among the guests are the butcher Sven, who dreams of becoming an opera singer, and the window cleaner Ib, who has a good eye for Caja but cannot bring himself to do anything about it. These five are fed up with the cafe's grumpy host and want to start their own pub, but it's not that easy and you end up sticking with the old.
