A young group of migrant fruit-pickers settle in a farm community, and try to have a say in town politics by choosing their own nominees for the local elections. Their candidates win, but the mayor and a judge get the town sheriff to wage a war of harassment in an attempt to force them to leave. But they don't give up easily.
