Johnny is the son of a domestic manufacturer of "imported" gowns and, as all dressmakers have a dummy, his mother has raised her son to be one. Johnny has a lady love, and his efforts to win her everlasting affection is sorely handicapped by the fact that she gets her big thrill from looking at photographs of prominent movie stars. She tells Johnny that if he could only make love in the manner of her heroes, that there might be some hope. He then dons a sheik costume, practices some real heavy love stuff, and again presents himself to his fair one. However, by the time he arrives, the postman has already delivered a photograph of another star, and she has no further use for sheiks. This time it's Douglas Fairbanks, and by the time Johnny has jumped through several windows and accomplished other acrobatic stunts, the girl has received yet another photograph - and this time it's Harold Lloyd. Johnny gets desperate and develops into a real stunt comedian, only to find out in the end that she "wants Johnny to be himself".
