The famous pop artist Gennadiy Maksimov, together with his wife, pop artist Larisa Levkoeva, after the anniversary theater performance, goes on vacation from Moscow to Crimea. At the last moment, Maksimov's wife is called to the miniature theater to replace a seriously ill artist. She, having submitted to the will of the theater administrator, leaves the train, and Maksimov travels south alone. Along the way, he manages to get behind the train at the Novopeschansk station, gives a concert there at the theater of a school friend, and encounters many local residents who, in every possible way, do not give him a full opportunity to have a normal rest.
