Mr. Fixit has an idea that the people in this world are not practical, that instead of sending for a plumber or other mechanics, they should fix it themselves. So his object in life is to help others out of their troubles and as a natural consequence, he always makes a botch and gets the worst of it in the end. Some men are blasting; the blast failing to go off, he runs up and says he will fix it. The charge explodes, blowing him high in the air. The remains are interred in a small a quiet neighborhood and on the slab which marks his last home is the inscription, "Here lies the body of our main Fixer."
