Håna is a bachelor in his 40s who struggles to free himself from his domineering mother, despite being unable to support himself. His efforts alternate between fumbling attempts at entrepreneurship and trying to extort money from his mother, who in turn lives on the illusion of being an important woman. In order to gain access to her apartment, he buys her a trip to Åre, but because he puts her on the wrong train, he meets Boel.
