From the "Out of the Inkwell" series in which the hands-seen-only animator and narrator introduces Pudgy the Acrobatic Dog and his death-defying stunts, except Pudgy is too tired to perform and keeps falling asleep. Cut to perky Betty perched on the ink-bottle who asks "Uncle Max" if he needs any help. "Uncle Max", of course, would have been producer Max Fleischer but it is doubtful if he supplied the narration voice. Betty breaks the fourth-wall and sings a ditty about having to have pep to Pudgy, and then, in order to give Pudgy some pep, she tosses Vim, Vigor and Vitality into the Pep Machine. The machine flies out the animated window into some live-action stock footage of parades, and NYC snow-removal trucks and delivery trucks and marching sailors and all the action is sped up as the animated Pep Machine passes by. It returns to the stage and Pudgy does his tricks...and Betty, having rescued Uncle Max, return to the ink bottle, which is not in an inkwell to begin with.
