The first IMAX HD release, Momentum was shot and projected at 48 frames-per-second, twice the normal film speed. The process resulted in a richer, clearer image and allowed filmmakers to create spectacular visual effects by moving the camera at high speeds without blurring or strobing. A sweeping tribute to Canada's stunning geography and rich cultural heritage, Momentum premiered at Expo '92 in Seville. The audience goes head-to-head with an icebreaker, plunges down a twisting mountain gorge, soars through the clouds in the nosecone of a jet, and speeds along with a dog team across a frozen arctic lake.
