Yuka Shibuya is a struggling actress. She goes to Kasama city every autumn to help out the Kinoshita family with their chestnut harvesting as a part timer. But this year was different. Grandpa Kinoshita had passed away in the spring so Hatsue, now a widow, greets Yuka by herself. And Daiki Mishima, a mysterious young man, appears out of nowhere. The story of these three living under the same roof, unfolds. "You see, chestnuts are covered in a spiny bur. So are we" "Our true selves are in the innermost depths of our heart. If someone tried to touch it, they could get hurt. The edgier he gets, the more precious what he's trying to protect is." The three start to form a special bond as the chestnut harvest progresses. But what happens to Hatsue, slowly changes the fate of Yuka and Daiki.
