Pacos Le Maltais, leader of a gang,lays down the law on the quay of Marseille .He fires one of his henchmen ,Le Chinois ,who killed a woman during the last bank stickup.To find money ,with his girlfriend,Le Chinois plots to kidnap a physician's little boy.They demand 5 million Francs to return their hostage .The doctor tries not to get the police involved in the affair,but the secondary school headmaster ,who feels responsible for the abduction, calls the captain.Formerly ,the physician treated Pacos,without accepting any money.The gangster's wife, a former nurse , had helped the surgeon.Pacos won't forget what the poor father has done for him.
