Jean hardly knows his mother, Laure. Following a family tragedy, he had in fact left with his father and traveled the world. Now, at 23, he returns to Paris and finds in Laure a 45-year-old woman who is attractive and freely choosing her lovers. Her latest companion is Guillaume, a gentle, cultured artist. Very quickly, Jean becomes jealous of Guillaume and develops a relationship with his mother that borders on romantic passion.
