A one day road trip, a daughter, a father and his friend. An Arab man returns for the first time in Romania to spend some time with his daughter after 20 years. The film Laila presents the meeting between a young woman(Ileana Puiu) and her Muslim father(Mazen Rifai) , who came to Brasov after many years of absence. The relationship between the two is a difficult one both due to the lack of the father in the girl's life, but also to the obvious cultural barrier. The films revolve around the line between reality and fiction.
