Paul, a man in his fifties, is a filmmaker. He writes a screenplay as if it were his profession and sets out to find an actress for the leading role. The fact that he cannot find her must be due to something: perhaps there are too many stories, too many images, too many actresses, and too little calm. Perhaps it is also a necessity. On impulse, Paul throws his script away. Jean has just finished film school and is hired by Paul as his assistant. One day, Paul comes across an old photograph of Dara, an Italian actress he once knew and admired, who disappeared from the screen long ago. Paul asks Jean to find her. Both men then do everything they can to bring her back to the screen. To carry out this project, they embark on a world of emotions, confrontations, and dreams.
