Rosa lives in the lush rain forest of southern Colombia, one of the world's most bio diverse regions. But to survive, she and thousands of peasants are destroying the jungle to grow coca, the shiny green leaf that is the raw material for cocaine. Consumption of this drug in the first world is fueling a drug trade that puts precious environmental resources at risk and keeps peasants like Rosa under the constant threat of the law and the lawless. Meanwhile, scientists concur that the Amazon rain forest is key to controlling climate change.
