King of Newark
The KING OF NEWARK (2016) is the sequel to Living With No Regrets (2013). This feature continues the epic journey of Malcolm Graves (Alonzo Herran Jr.), an aspiring Black man from the projects who overcame the dark side of the streets to become an aide to Mayor of the City of Newark, New Jersey. Malcolm now wants to run for office to become the Mayor, while also focusing on raising his teen son in a responsible manner so that his son does not repeat his past mistakes. Unfortunately, Malcolm's past does come back to haunt him, along with the heartaches that come along with many difficult decisions in life that you must make when trying to stay on the right path. This film illustrates the consequences of those right and wrong decisions of trust, loyalty, lies, and violence. A truly inspirational film on having the inner strength to be triumphant in the daily struggle of life.
