Kia and Cosmos

The film revolves around a 15-year-old girl diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorders, who lives with her single mother, and her audacious journey from Kolkata to Kalimpong whilst writing a mystery novel. A series of twists and turns aid the unfolding of a heartwarming journey of India's first teenage-girl-detective and we'd really like you to be a part of it. A 15-year-old otherworldly girl; Kia, living with her single mother, Dia goes on an audacious journey from Kolkata to Kalimpong in search of her father spurred by the death of a neighbourhood cat, Cosmos. She loves music, mathematics and the colour red and she hates liars, noise and the colour yellow. She loves spy novels and thus indulges in an investigation to find out who killed Cosmos. Her only friends are a rickshaw-puller, Rabi who takes her from home to school and bring her back and a teacher, Souvik in school. She is confident enough about her logic and she is sure about the dates, figures, ideas and reasons that otherwise comes across disobedience and arrogance to her mother. Her mother, sandwiched between work, society and her losing youth find her daughter unreasonably foolish and annoying for all that she does before she reaches home after work. A dead father is what Kia knows and her favourite spy-novels are coaxing her to find more about that 'cruel soul' that killed a pregnant cat. Only Rabi will help her and maybe Souvik wants to correct her investigation too. But she has to go out of her way to meet and talk to strangers. She is trying to be observant and a little courageous too. Will she be able to find out the truth behind more than one mysteries? What happened to an otherwise educated upper-middle-class family a few years back that led to a situation Kia is getting involved into.

Amish Stud: The Eli Weaver Story

1 hr 25 mins
While he's out fishing with his Mennonite friend Jeremiah Peters on the morning of 2 June, Amish Eli Weaver receives a message via a call to Jeremiah's cell phone that Eli's wife, 29-year-old Barbara Weaver, has been found shot dead in their bed. While the Amish elders want to deal with the issue solely within their community, the Wayne County Sheriff's Department is forced to investigate in the murder having taken place in their jurisdiction, the two investigators being Detectives Bruce London and Mike Maxwell. What is subsequently shown is the current investigation interspersed with flashbacks of Eli and Barbara's life, which Eli admits to the investigators was not always perfect. Those flashbacks show that prior to their marriage, Barbara wanted to marry for romantic love, which is not the Amish way. Eli seemingly wanted the same; he was the black sheep of his family in not always adhering to Amish strictures. London and Maxwell have their theories of who the murderer is; they suspect Eli, who isn't reacting like a typical grieving husband and father, but they know they'll have problems finding evidence because the Amish Eli will have no digital footprint; and the community's sole telephone is a public one for emergencies, usable by anyone. They hope that the unofficial traditional Amish communication network, rampant gossip, will provide some clues. They find that some talk emerges in the form of a collection of women not in the community who were a part of Eli's secret life as the Amish Stud.
