Richter Boudreau is the prodigal son of a wealthy family. His mother, Cynthia, is an unsuccessful local celebrity, who works as a film critic for a local newspaper. Within a short time, Richter loses his job, his heritage and his friend, when he falls among blackmailers and murderers. His only hope is that others around him are bigger dummies than he is.
