In this modern take on the Panchatantra story - Shiva Rajkumar plays Virupaksha/Karataka and Indian dancing sensation Prabhu Deva plays Bala Raju/Damanaka. The two are smart thieves and are capable of deceiving anyone with their endless talents. With one such escapade, they land in jail for cheating a politician. While they are serving their term in jail, they come across a task given by the jailer (Rockline Venkatesh). They head to a village called Nandikoluru, which has its own set of problems including battling a drought in the region for several years. With hardly any water to survive in such harsh conditions, only a handful of the villagers exist and a majority have migrated to other places. The village fair, too, hasn't been held for years for these reasons. Will Karataka and Damanaka bring relief to the villagers and eventually find solace and a purpose to their lives? The film answers this question.
