Isolated

Isolated, the short film by Charlotte Rinaldi, transports the spectator into the empty succession of days during the lock-down, characterized by a repetition of daily gestures whose sole purpose is to maintain contact with reality, through an endless routine. The surreal collective experience that is the pandemic is expressed in the everyday life of the individual in a background of déjà vu, in a vain attempt to exorcise the moment and metabolize their own experience as it unfolds. Loneliness, especially if forced, is a threat to the ego, which tries to resist the subconscious that can take over at any time. The fear of the virus is reflected in the psyche of the protagonist, who doubts her mental health and the ambiguous signals that surround her, ultimately projecting into her alter ego the darkest part of herself.
