Made with the assistance of the National Film Board of Canada, this 1990 Canadian mockumentary about the flat Earth theory including the fictional story of the fatal polar expedition by Andrea Barnes.It was created to teach critical theories and debunk flat-earth theory, though some flat earth adherents continue to use it as if it were a non-fiction, serious documentary supporting their beliefs. Note that no scholarly writing about the existence of Andrea Barnes exists outside of this mockumentary. Indeed, the guide presented with the film explained its purpose was take something everyone generally understood to be false and make a film showing the opposite, which would then challenge viewers to say "Wait a minute. That's baloney."
