High school professor Johannes Büttner (Wolf Albach-Retty) reminisces: 25 years ago, he went on a cycling trip to the idyllic Carinthian town of Burgsteinach with his high school friends Fritz (Heinz Erhardt) and Ulrich (Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff). Now the 800th anniversary of Burgsteinach is coming up, and Johannes seizes the opportunity: he calls Fritz and Ulrich, whom he hasn't seen since then, and suggests that they repeat this unforgettable vacation. At first, Fritz, a successful egg liqueur manufacturer, and Ulrich, who has become a movie star, are not exactly enthusiastic about the idea. But the change of heart is not long in coming. And so the three men get on their bikes and look forward to a vacation away from their everyday working lives and, above all, without wives. Of course, amusing complications soon arise: Due to a lack of money, the buddies have to spend the night in a barn - much to the displeasure of the farmer who lives there. Catering is no less complicated: Ulrich's attempt to talk a sales clerk with his "star appeal" into buying some food is not exactly successful. But luckily, the shrewd Fritz has instructed his chauffeur to secretly follow the group of cyclists: with plenty of food in the trunk of the limousine. Fritz's son Robby (Peter Kraus) and his girlfriend Katinka (Corny Collins) suddenly join the merry group at the most beautiful picnic. The spoiled boy needs money from his dad to pay for his new Porsche. After an argument, Robby drives off without his girlfriend. So the cute Katinka is "adopted" by the three gentlemen without further ado. When they finally reach their destination with their "daughter" in tow, there is great joy. Memories are awakened, old childhood sweethearts are reunited - and Burgsteinach is teeming with pretty girls. However, Fritz and Johannes' wives (Mady Rahl, Waltraut Haas) and Ulrich's girlfriend (Katharina Mayberg) have also suspected this: the ladies turn up unexpectedly in the little town to see what their husbands are up to.
