Anna Grawe (Tanja Wedhorn) ist die rechte Hand der Bundestagsabgeordneten Bea Kober (Rosa Enskat). Als die umsichtige Büroleiterin erfährt, dass die Staatsanwaltschaft gegen ihre Chefin ermittelt, ahnt Anna, dass es bei Beas enger Verbindung zu dem kasachischen Oligarchen Parygin (Eugen Knecht) etwas zu verbergen gibt. Dass jedoch auch ihre 23-jährige Tochter Larissa (Paula Hartmann), die mit einem kasachisch-britischen Stipendium in London studiert, eine Affäre mit dem verheirateten Geschäftsmann hatte und ihn nun erpressen möchte, kann sich Anna nicht vorstellen. Als sie mit Larissa in ihren Heimatort zu Mutter Magda (Jutta Wachowiak) fährt, holt Anna dort nicht nur der Korruptionsskandal ein. Auch Parygin hat jemanden zu ihnen geschickt.
