The fifth commandment is the theme of this film. Huwag Kang Papatay is God's command that tortures David's (Ace Vergel) mind every time he is on the brink of killing out of anger. He has nobody but a newborn son; all of his other loved ones were brutally killed in various ways by Martin (Johnny Delgado), the mayor's son whose mind is unstable and who was once defeated and embarrassed by his bravery. He even asked God why such blows are happening despite him serving Him as an altar server. "Huwag Kang Papatay" continues to bombard his mind 'til the last part and is even reiterated by Father Ramirez (Ruben Rustia). But until when? is the challenge of the said commandment.
