At the time of his death in 1995 Hugo Pratt was clutching an Ethiopian cross in his left hand. To better understand his long love affair with the black continent, a group guided by Jean Claude Guilbert, Hugo Pratt's adventurous friend, set out to follow in his footsteps in the Horn of Africa. Thanks to this research and precious audiovisual archive documents, a new image of the great graphic novelist (creator of Corto Maltese) and his vision of Africa emerges.
