Nina is a successful dating coach and has written a book. However, the publishers want her to add a personal touch at the end of the book, preferably by describing how she herself ended up with someone significant. Nina isn't too keen on the idea but feels she has to comply. When she is contacted by a European prince, Freddie, who needs dating tips to find love in New York, she comes up with the idea to win over the prince herself to secure her book deal. However, the prince already has a matchmaker, Edward, and now wants Nina to work alongside him - something that doesn't suit her at all.
