Babi Papuska, a middle-aged homeless man who considers himself a devoted Marxist intellectual. Despite living on the margins of society, he prides himself on being well-read and politically conscious, blaming his misfortunes on capitalist exploitation-particularly his former boss, whom he holds responsible for ruining his life. When Babi learns about the death of his idol, the revolutionary Che Guevara, he becomes deeply shaken and convinced that someone must carry on the revolutionary struggle. Inspired by Guevara's legacy, he wanders around Belgrade and other places preaching Marxist ideas and dreaming of leading a workers' uprising. However, Babi's grand ideological ambitions collide with reality. The people he encounters mostly ridicule or ignore him, and his own contradictions-hypochondria, laziness, bitterness, and self-delusion-undermine his revolutionary zeal. Through Babi's misadventures and monologues, the film satirizes political dogmatism, the gap between ideology and everyday life, and the social absurdities of late socialist Yugoslavia.
