The Bengali film Hirer Shikal was released in the year 1988 starring Chiranjeet, Ranjit Mullick, Debasree Roy and others. The Bengali film is directed by Murabi Chakraborty, Robin Banerjee scored the music in this Film. The story is as the younger brother is jealous of the elder brother as his daughter would inherit diamonds which their mother had mentioned in her will before her death. He hires a look alike of the daughter Krishna, who was studying abroad and sends her to his enter brother's house. He places another man named Krishnendu to oversee her. The parents do not realize that is it is not their daughter and they not only tell her where the diamonds are kept but also fix her marriage to their friend's son. However on the day of the theft, she is caught and the truth is revealed to everyone. Krishnendu agrees to assist the family and a fight takes place. In this mad pursuit, Krishna is shot by her uncle. The police arrives and he is arrested however Krishna dies leaving her family and her fortune to her look-alike.
