After a personal tragedy, Jon Aames spirals into a crisis of faith and questions life's purpose. Seeking solace and a way to cope with his loss, Jon volunteers as a 24/7 crisis hotline responder. As Jon is called to the toughest of situations, he attempts to bring hope to those who need it most. The tables turn as Jon discovers that those calling for help on the crisis line are actually helping him. Still overcome with grief, Jon is unable to move on until he meets Calvin, a neglected teenager with problems of his own. Through their chance encounter, Jon begins to see how the most unexpected experiences can strengthen his faith. Agreeing to train Calvin to help him make the high school wrestling team, the two embark on a transformative spiritual journey as they seek answers to life's most difficult questions. While pursuing the dream of a state championship, an unlikely friendship grows between them as they discover that the greatest work is sometimes accomplished through the broken.
