In the shadow of Mount Chelmos, Golfo, an orphaned young shepherdess, falls in love with Tasos, a handsome but impecunious herder. Before long, they exchange vows of eternal devotion. However, as self-assured shepherd Kitsos pressures Golfo to marry him instead of her secret beau, Stavroula, Kitsos' spiteful first cousin, sets in motion a malevolent plan, determined to separate them. As a result, Tasos breaks his vow, and Golfo, now on the verge of despair, contemplates death. But only Tasos and the power of true love can save innocent Golfo. Are the star-crossed lovers meant to be together?
