The film takes place in 1923, 5 years after the events described in the Missing Expedition. Rogov, Mitya, Kumanin and Zimin find the old members of the expedition and again fall into the places where a rich gold deposit was found. The deposit is again replenished with gold. But getting to it is much more difficult than 5 years ago.
