Give Me a Sailor Reviews

Nice musical farce concerns a love triangle involving two pairs of siblings, Hope and Whiting, who are fellow officers in the Navy, and Raye and Grable, who live on shore. The four meet while the brothers are on leave. Whiting falls for Grable, but Raye is smitten with Whiting, while Hope wants Raye and Whiting to get together so he will be able to worm his way into Grable's good graces. Hope coaches Raye on how to get Whiting interested in her, but nothing seems to work until a photograph of Raye accidentally turns up in a best-legs contest. Raye garners a lot of attention from the picture and is finally able to turn Whiting's head. Their relationship almost leads to a wedding, but the couples get confused at the last second, resulting in a Raye and Hope and a Grable and Whiting walk down the aisle. Songs include: "What Goes Here in My Heart?" "A Little Kiss at Twilight," "Give Me a Sailor," "The US and You," "It Don't Make Sense" (Ralph Rainger, Leo Robin).
