Warning: Spoilers Anna, an attractive and rich Italian woman who lived in the USA for many years and is now widowed, decides to return to her home town in Italy, to see her family and childhood friends again. Her arrival in a luxury car is a big event for the inhabitants of the little village, who welcome her warmly. The only person who is indifferent to her is the town's locksmith. Anna has warm feelings for him but decides not to let him know about this. Rumors spread in the village that the rich widow is looking for a husband. Every single man asks the local priest for advice and support. The priest doesn't want to get involved in the matter, but things become complicated when he finds out that his nephew, a nice young man who works for the locksmith, was seen in Anna's garden. The nephew confides that he was not there because of Anna, but a pretty young woman who lives in the same house, the locksmith's sister. The priest, who has to keep silent, has to endure the gossip of the village which claims that he favors his nephew as Anna's new husband. In the end, all misunderstandings are cleared: The nephew marries the girl he loves and the locksmith falls in love with Anna and asks her to marry him.
