Vijay (Vijay Vasanth) is a contractor for sticking film posters in North Madras area. He is a rough, uncouth guy who at times in a drunken mood beats up his mother (Saranya Ponvannan), but makes up with her at the end of the day by buying her favorite Biriyani. He falls in love with the educated Madhu (Mahima) a nurse in a hospital. However he gets caught in a cat and mouse game being played by a ruthless corrupt politician Burma (Rahman) and a cunning businessman Parthipan (Prabhu) who has a score to settle. One of them holds his girl to ransom, as the other has stolen the money entrusted to him!
