The fish were to blame. They would not bite, so Plump and Runt dozed off and dreamed. The bottle containing a message is picked up from the waves and they start out to rescue the fair writer of the script. Mounted on a mule and goat and armed to the teeth, they encounter many adventures. Deceive by the voice of a porker, they become lost in the forest and wander upon the pirate stronghold. Once more on the rail and more by good luck than management, they blunder upon the haunted house where the maid is imprisoned. Here they arrive in time to save the girl from being forced into an unwelcome marriage. Love hits them both and they are in a quandary how to solve the situation, when the fish begin to bite. Two or three vicious tugs at the lines and they wake up to find that though their qualifications as Knights Errant leave much to be desired, still as fishermen, they are in a class by themselves.
