Chrissy is contemplating suicide, and taking her 4-year-old son Jake with her, while standing on the exterior of the 21st floor balcony of her home in Newcastle. Former police psychologist Rob helps to save young Chrissy, when he persuades her to go on a date. They then get trapped with Jake and old Pat in an elevator, because a drunken gang set fire to the elevator's engine room.
