A military battle is ensuing. The combatants: children. The location: a dusty field, complete with ditches serving as trenches. The weapons of choice: tomatoes. It's all in good play fun, with even the girls in on the action, Mary, for example, a field nurse tending to the wounded. The location may be a sign of what they should do next: the lot is next to West Coast Studios, their play war which may place them in good stead to work as actors on a movie, Mary who already has a part which will earn her five dollars.
