After his father is killed in a car accident, things unravel for Kale Brecht and he is placed under house-arrest for punching his Spanish teacher. Having nothing better to do, Kale occupies himself by spying on his neighbors. But one night, he witnesses what appears to be a murder going on in Mr. Turner's house. Kale becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind these murders but, after a few unsettling run-ins with Mr. Turner, it becomes a matter of life and death. And the ominous question: Who is watching whom?

Caruso and Carl Ellsworth, are reteaming for an adaptation of Y: The Last Man, the Vertigo comic book about an escape artist who is the sole male survivor of a plague.... At the Movies: Pirates 3 Plays Dirty, Moves Up Bow

No sooner had Peter Parker become filmdom's $151 million man than Disney quietly inched up the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End by a few hours, to Thursday, May 24, at 8 pm. The move is intended to capitalize on the holiday weekend and, really now, give the film an edge in besting Spider-Man 3's record opening.Also per Variety: Kevin Costner will star in Swing Vote, an indie comedy about a single father whose ballot will determine a presidential election.... Disturbia scribe Christopher B. Landon is set to pen The Flock, a thriller about teen girls practicing witchcraft.

Shia LaBeouf Kicks Adam Brody's Tail

While The O.C. grad's new release, In the Land of Women, opened with a whimper this weekend, taking in a paltry $4.9 million for an eighth-place finish, the artist formerly known as Even Stevens held onto the top spot at the box office, with Disturbia raking in another $13.5 mil. Meanwhile, Anthony Hopkins' latest Hannibal Lecter — I'm sorry, very different psycho killer — feature, Fracture, bowed at No. 2 with a haul of $11.2 mil. Rounding out the top five were Blades of Glory (in third place with $7.8 mil), the motel thriller Vacancy (in fourth with $7.6 mil) and Meet the Robinsons (in fifth with $7.1 mil).

Box Office: Disturbia Dulls Blades

Shia LaBeouf's Disturbia topped the weekend box office with a $23 million haul, knocking Blades of Glory ($14.1 million) out of the No. 1 spot for the first time in three weeks. Rounding out the top five were Meet the Robinsons ($12.1 mil), Perfect Stranger (debuting with $11.5 mil) and Are We Done Yet? ($9.2 mil). In its second weekend of release, Grindhouse dropped to No. 10, with $4.2 million, fueling talk that each half of its double bill will be released separately in the U.S. later this year.
