Dave vs Death

Having just been attacked, David Kane is rushed to the hospital where he slips into a coma. On his deathbed, Dave is confronted by the Grim Reaper/Death, who he challenges to a chess match to determine his fate. Each of Dave's chess pieces represents a loved one in his life - the King being Dave himself - with each piece taken by Death meaning the demise of that loved one into Death's hands. Dave systematically assigns the chess pieces to those loved ones. In the end, will Dave have a game plan for saving himself and his loved ones?
