Everything meaningful in Vanessa's life is falling apart. She is a failing actress and on a career path to nowhere; she proposes to a man she thought loves her, but is swiftly rejected, only finding out later he has a wife. She is alone, her career is failing, and she is becoming financially unstable. She makes a new friend who coaxes her to take step in a new direction. Vanessa uses her acting skills to reinvent herself completely in an effort to find confidence and cure her loneliness.
