City of Wax
This is the life of the honey bee, born in its natural home in a hollow tree and the man-made home of the modern apiary. We see them building the comb, storing the honey, the queen laying eggs, the activities of each of the other types of bees. A sequence deals with the metamorphosis of the bee from larva to young worker. Then there are the fights with robber bees, the feeding of the royal jelly to produce a new queen, the death of the old queen, the nuptial flight of the new, and the death of the drones. Close-ups are used throughout.
