Willard Isenbaum, is a lonely and sexually frustrated employee of an insurance company. He fantasizes having sex with the new secretary Susie, but he does not have the skills to court her. Willard's female boss sends him to investigate an insurance claim filled by Painless Martha, an aging tattoo artist. Martha is alive and seems to be in good health, but she is expecting her death due to a strange prediction by an Ouija board. Willard tells her that the insurance company will not pay until her death, and she dies of a heart attack soon after. Martha's will leaves her pet duck to whoever kills her, so Willard inherits the duck. The duck leads Willard to a brothel and into a wild night of partying. Unfortunately for them, they are soon stranded in the desert. The duck convinces Willard to dress in drag and to try to hitch a ride. After encounters with several people who are trying to cross the desert, Willard and his duck are picked up by a trucker. Having returned to his apartment, Willard discovers that the duck is female. He has sex with his new companion. The following morning, Willard is confident enough to have sex with his female boss. He then quits his job and leaves with the duck.
