Chatriyan
The Assistant Commissioner Panneer "Sathriyan" Selvam gathers enough evidence to imprison the gangster Arumai "Annachi" Nayagam, but Annachi kills Sathriyan's wife in retaliation. Sathriyan retires to take care of his kids. He gains a new love interest in the person of Banu, the granddaughter of his new landlord. Annachi serves his prison sentence and then tries to rejoin the criminal underworld, but finds that he is no longer respected or feared by his peers. Annachi pressures Sathriyan to rejoin the police, because he hopes to regain his reputation in a rematch between them.
