Carson Harrison is an event photographer who returns home for his family's annual Christmas gala that raises money for their foundation. Carson has always wanted to carve his own path apart from his family, despite his aunt wanting him to run the foundation after she retires. The Harrisons need a caterer for the gala this year. Molly Frost, who runs a catering business, goes to the house for an interview. After meeting Molly, Carson gets her the job and agrees to organize the gala dinner. Carson and Molly work together in preparation for the event. Molly helps Carson see what the Harrison foundation means to their local community, and the two grow close. However, Carson is planning to continue his photography career after the gala ends, making a future with Molly unlikely.
