Greece, 1948. As the Greek Civil War neared its end, the government ordered the evacuation of border villages to ensure safe passage for the army. As a result, Margaritis, a farmer uprooted from his home and land, has no choice but to seek refuge in Thessaloniki with his two adult children in tow. But instead of a better future, they moved into the Caravan Serai, a run-down building requisitioned by the state, packed with displaced people. Now struggling with hunger and unemployment, Margaritis must face a daunting challenge: protect his family from the horrors of civil strife, whatever the cost, or save his skin.
