Together with their young son and his nanny, Jennifer and Fred return to Capri where they met three years earlier, in 1944, when both were stationed there while serving in the military. Each hopes to rekindle the passion and fire they felt at that time, not for each other, but for the lovers each had before committing themselves to a dispassionate, dutiful marriage.
