The great and only Bungles, treated with scorn, contempt and later violence, wandered despairingly along the streets. Everything seemed at an end, so far as he was concerned. Seeing a trolley car approach, he laid his head across the rails and awaited death with a calm face. To his horror he found that the car had turned down another track and that he was still in the land of the living. Resting for a moment beneath a hotel window he found himself suddenly enveloped in the folds of something soft and filmy. Then he is flattened to the earth by a pair of shoes landing upon his head. A change takes place. A piece of glass does the duty for a razor and off comes his mustache. A few movements and his old rags are thrown aside and he becomes some female. Then follows a series of exciting experiences as Bungles, impersonating a woman, seeks employment and friends he finds both with the theater folks, and finds in addition to work, trouble that ends his delicate plot.
