Pete Anderson's father Adam is a police officer. When Pete and his friend Jake are drinking a milkshake, Adam is called up for an important case. From the police control room Pete and Jake hear how Adam is shot to death. Two years later Pete is secretly eavesdropping on criminals to hand over the sound tapes to the police. He's a media sensation and known as the 'Crusader'. Jake hasn't been faring so well. He started his own youth gang and has recently joined a big criminal organization. When Jake learns of Pete's Crusader-secret, the two soon face each other. Pete decides to flee, but quickly finds out that isn't a real solution.
