This documentary is part of a series that describes wars, battles, and revolutions that were turning points in Western history. This video looks at the Trojan War. According to Homer and other writers, Paris brought Helen, the wife of King Menelaus of Sparta back to Troy with him. To retrieve her, the Greeks sent Agamemnon to Troy. There the Greeks engaged in one of the most famous ruses of all time, leaving a "gift" horse behind in the wake of their retreat. Inside hid Greek soldiers who emerged in a surprise attack on the town of Troy. The film uses film footage, 3-D graphics and a modern re-enactment to tell the story.
