Baby Shultz [Marena Harris] is a runaway teenager searching for her Mother. When she's picked up by Child Services, her last chance is a foster home with a couple that runs a dog sledding team. Baby comes to love the dogs and takes naturally to sledding, but when her boyfriend shows up, she leaves with him and one of the couple's new puppies. With the Police after them at every step, they must endure the winter streets of Vermont and make some desperate choices to survive.
