Marlene Smith (Alice Dixson) is a rich woman who returns to the country with a plan to reach out to the poor people and stop poverty. Everyone thinks she's being idealistic but she knows she can make a difference. She decides to disguise herself and live in the depressed slum area of the city so she can penetrate the poor community. In the process she meets Tom Cruz (Andrew E.) and falls in love with him despite their social differences.
